The updated Australian Curriculum version 9.0 has enhanced the Foundation to Year 10 curriculum through revisions, realignment, and streamlining of content. It also establishes clear expectations for the education standards that all young Australians should attain, irrespective of their backgrounds or geographical locations.

Online Tutoring for Maths (Year-9)

Genius Petals Welcoming to Year 9 Maths! Here, your child will learn how to work with simple data collections, intervals and sequences, and units of measurement. Our online sessions are designed to help young learners build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts while making learning engaging and enjoyable.

  • We focus on developing core numeracy skills such as counting, number recognition, and basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction).
  • Students engage in practical exercises and virtual manipulatives to develop measurement and spatial reasoning skills.

Course Content

Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics and Probability

Summarizing some important topics below ( the actual Curriula contains more than these topics)

  • Recognise the constancy of the sine, cosine and tangent ratios for a given angle in right-angled triangles
  • Simplify algebraic expressions, expand binomial products and factorise monic quadratic expressions
  • Recognise that the real number system includes the rational numbers and the irrational numbers
  • Apply the exponent laws to numerical expressions with integer exponents and extend to variables
  • Find the gradient of a line segment, the midpoint of the line interval and the distance between 2 distinct points on the Cartesian plane
  • Identify and graph quadratic functions, solve quadratic equations graphically and numerically
  • Experiment with the effects of the variation of parameters on graphs of related functions
  • Solve spatial problems, applying angle properties, scale, similarity, Pythagoras’ theorem and trigonometry in right-angled triangles
  • Calculate and interpret absolute, relative and percentage errors in measurements
  • Choose appropriate forms of display or visualisation for a given type of data
  • Calculate relative frequencies from given or collected data to estimate probabilities of events involving “and”, inclusive “or” and exclusive “or”
  • Design and conduct repeated chance experiments and simulations
And much more …. Genius Petals’ Tutors always focus on teaching more than the prescribed Syllabus to prepare the students for Competitive exams and make their journey smoother…

Like we believe and always focus on ‘’Transforming Learning into Brilliance’’ !!
